Orthopedic, physical-medicine acupuncture that treats the source of your pain — not just the symptoms.
Hair-thin, sterile, single-use needles are placed at precise points to calm the nervous system, release tension, improve circulation and trigger the body's own healing response. Dr. Phil's orthopedic approach is built on more than three decades of treating joint disease, spinal injuries and musculoskeletal pain.
Therapeutic massage that works hand-in-hand with your acupuncture plan.
Our licensed therapists release muscle tension, improve circulation and speed up recovery — so the results of every acupuncture or chiropractic session last longer. Cupping is also available for deeper muscle release and sports-injury prevention.

Dr. Phil isn't just an acupuncturist — he's a healer in the truest sense of the word. What sets him apart is his combination of thorough knowledge, and genuine care for his patients. From our very first session, he took the time to thoroughly assess my situation, asking insightful questions, really listening, and customizing my treatment based on my problem areas.
One instance that really solidified my trust in him occurred just before Christmas. I was in severe pain, and I was honestly dreading the thought of traveling for the holiday. The pain was so bad, I could barely move. But Dr. Phil went out of his way to see me the weekend before Christmas, despite not working on Saturday, but just because he was a few blocks from the office when I contacted him. He didn't just treat my symptoms — he took the time to ensure I could walk out of his office feeling better. He was incredibly accommodating, not only treating me in a time of acute need but also offering guidance on how to manage the pain long-term.
It's not just about the physical healing; it's about the whole experience of feeling truly cared for, which is rare these days. Dr. Phil's expertise, his personalized approach, and his willingness to go above and beyond for his patients are all reasons why I highly recommend him. If you're considering acupuncture, or are looking for someone who really listens and delivers results, look no further than Dr. Phil Trigiani. He's the real deal.

I started seeing Dr. Phil (and his wonderful team) a few months ago for multiple disc herniations and he has been a true blessing. His focus on connecting the mind and body to treat pain and heal physical ailments has been incredibly effective, and every time I leave his practice, I can't wait to come back. Highly recommend it!

Acupuncture is a cornerstone of traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years. Hair-thin, sterile needles are placed at specific points on the body to stimulate the body's own healing response, relieve pain and restore balance. Today it's widely used alongside conventional medicine for pain, stress, digestion, fertility and many other conditions.
Traditionally, acupuncture is understood to regulate the flow of qi (vital energy) along the body's meridians. From a modern perspective, needling stimulates nerves, muscles and connective tissue — increasing blood flow, releasing the body's natural pain-relieving chemicals and changing how the nervous system processes pain. Dr. Phil's orthopedic approach combines both views to treat the musculoskeletal source of the problem.
Yes — when performed by a licensed, board-certified practitioner. We use only sterile, single-use disposable needles. Side effects are rare and usually minor, such as slight soreness or a small bruise at a needle site. Please let us know if you are pregnant, have a pacemaker, a bleeding disorder or take blood thinners so we can tailor your treatment.
Acupuncture needles are hair-thin and solid. Usually, it does not feel like more than a mosquito bite. Many patients often don't feel any sensations at all.
However, some may feel soreness and numbness after or during treatment, but it is temporary. The energetic sensation differs from pain. People often comment that the feeling is unfamiliar but pleasant, relaxing, and interesting.
We accept most major health insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Aetna and Oscar. Not sure what your plan covers? Use our insurance verification page or call us at 212-769-6443 and we'll check for you before your visit.
The cost of acupuncture in New York City varies widely depending on the practitioner, the condition being treated and whether your insurance covers it. Because we accept most major insurances, many of our patients pay only their copay. For an exact figure based on your plan, verify your insurance or call the office.
